JAMMU: Semifinals position has been cleared with the entry of Department of EVS, Physical Education, MCA and Geography in the last four stages of the inter-department men’s volleyball tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, on the campus grounds, here on Tuesday.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals, EVS defeated The Law School in straight sets of 25-18, 25-17 while Physical Education outplayed Department of Commerce 2-1 (25-15, 21-25, 25-13).
In other quarterfinals of the day, MCA defeated Department of Chemistry 2-1 (25-08, 25-13) and Geography got walkover Department of English.
CARROM: WOMEN: Department of EVS beat Department of Mathematics 2-1; Department of Geography blanked Department of Economics 2-1; Department of Psychology downed The Law School 2-0; Department of Zoology beat Department of MCA 2-1.
BADMINTON: MEN: Quarterfinals: Depart-ment of Geography beat Department of Education 2-0; Department of Commerce defeated Department of Mathematics 2-1; Department of Physical Education outplayed Department of EVS 2-0; Department of Physics and Electronics trounced ICCCR and HRM 2-1.
