Security situation in State reverting to early nineties: Harsh

JAMMU: Concerned over the growing militancy in the State as also the revocation of PSA on the perpetrator detained for desecrating revered Aap Shambhu Temple in Jammu, Panther activists staged a protest at Exhibition Ground here on Tuesday seeking strengthening of intelligence network besides invocation of PSA on the accused and other conspirators of heinous crime who vitiated the peaceful atmosphere of Jammu region. Spearheaded by Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP, Balwant Singh Mankotia State President and other leaders, party activists raised slogans against the government.
Harsh, while speaking to the media, revealed that the district administration taking the cognisance of public fury and ferocity of turbulence slapped PSA on the accused of Aap Shambhu Temple and Nanak Nagar incidents subsequently but expressed his anguish over the revocation of the act on Yasir Alfaz by irrationally declaring him insane and deranged.
He wondered that how could State Government dub him ‘lunatic’ without any conclusive evidence that the accused was suffering from any form of mental disorder till date. He further revealed that the miscreant reportedly boarded the auto rickshaw from Roop Nagar and drove to Aap Shambhu Temple to commit the desecration and had no precedents of self or family abuse or ferocious symptoms which defied the theory of psychiatric problem. Expressing skepticism over the State Govt’s flip flop over the constitution of a medical board to carry out the medical examination of the accused to ascertain his mental health, Singh lambasted the State Government and BJP in particular for shielding and providing immunity to the accused by towing the Kashmir centric agenda for the crumbs of power.
Harsh further expressed grave concern over the growing militancy in the state which had recently claimed eight more lives besides injuries to several others. He regretted that the situation was fast reverting to nineties and attributed the same to soft approach of the BJP – PDP coalition towards separatists and anti nationals.
He deplored the government inaction towards the disruptive tendencies of separatists and other anti national elements in Kashmir who were raising pro Pak slogans, Pak flags besides ISIS flags on a regular basis in Kashmir besides attempting to vitiate communal harmony in Jammu region.
