JAMMU: Second National Lok Adalat is scheduled to be held on 6th December, 2014. In this regard, Executive Chairman National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), Justice T.S Thakur, Judge, Supreme Court of India held video conference on 17th October 2014 with Executive Chairpersons of all State Legal Services Authorities (SLSAs). Justice Virender Singh, Judge High Court of J and K and Executive Chairman J and K SLSA represented the State in the video conference.
Executive Chairman NALSA asked Chairpersons of all SLSAs to ensure maximum disposal of the cases in the National Lok Adalat as compared to previous first National Lok Adalat that was held on 23rd November 2013. It was stressed upon the SLSAs to take up Traffic Challans, Municipal Cases, Cases under Shops Establishment Act, Fisheries Cases, MNREGA and Revenue Cases and Insurance claims/cases in the 2nd National Lok Adalat.
Meanwhile, to achieve maximum settlement of cases in the 2nd National Lok Adalat Justice Virender Singh accompanied by Secretary J and K High Court Legal Services Committee R.N Watal on 21st October 2014 held video conferencing with 9 DLSAs of Jammu province except DLSA Kishtwar. In the video conferencing Executive Chairman stressed upon the Chairman of DLSAs to lay emphasis on the cases which were left/not touched in the Ist National Lok Adalat held on 23rd November 2013. The Chairpersons of DLSAs were asked to hold meetings with District administration, police officials, officials of fisheries department and Municipal authorities to identify the cases to be taken in the 2nd National Lok Adalat. The video conferencing with left over DLSAs of Jammu and Kashmir province shall be held on 28th and 29th October 2014, respectively. JNF
