JAMMU: Large number of persons from Teli Basti Bari Brahmana joined Shiv Sena here on Thursday.
Welcoming the new entrants to party fold, Shiv Sena State President Dimpy Kohli, General Secretary G.I Singh, State Secretary Raj Singh and Block President Bari Brahmana Raju Salaria asked them to work with sincerity and dedication to strengthen the party. They further said that Shiv Sena is ready to contest ULB and Panchayat elections on its own with full force and determination.
On the occasion, a 11-member committee of Teli Basti was also formed under the Gram Pardhan Nanak Singh and Up Pardhan Bhola Ram.
Later, a protest was held against Modi led NDA government for abrupt and steep hike petroleum products. Shiv Sainiks said that hike in petroleum products prices will badly hit common masses. They said that with hike in prices of petroleum products, rates of essential commodities will increase. “Central Government is already befooling the LPG consumers in the name of subsidy. High inflation is a matter of concern and Central Government is least concerned with the problems of common man”, they rued and demanded immediate rollback on petroleum product prices hike.
