UDHAMPUR: District Administration, Udhampur, in collaboration with Information Technology Department, has finalised scheme for roll out of ‘e-District’ project in Udhampur under National e-Governance Plan of Government of India to provide more than 25 services at peoples’ doorsteps.
A preliminary meeting of district officers and consultants of IT Department under chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, was convened to discuss various services of different departments to be included in the door step delivery system.
The DDC directed the LDM to provide service centres for public at 78 bank branches in addition to existing 47 Common Service Centres for enabling service delivery. More than 21 departments have projected 30 odd services to be provided to public at village level under e-district project which will be implemented by district administration and department of Information Technology, J and K Government. Online monitoring of all the developmental works will be done by DDC office under the project. A core group has been constituted for presentation of detailed project report to IT Department for approval and roll out of project this year.
Departments of Social Welfare, Revenue, Urban Local Bodies, Labour, CAPD, PDD, PHE, Transport, GP Fund, Rural Development, Forests, Health and Forests among others will provide service online and people can avail these services at CSCs instead of going to government offices. In Phase-I more than 15 services are being rolled out which include marriage certificate, pensions, scholarships, caste certificate, ward certificate, voter list, birth and death certificate, driving license, route permits, relief, compensation, labour cases, water connection, power connection, revenue extracts and other services.
All the departments presented the details about services which will be made available for e-district. DIO Anil presented details of the project and IT Consultants Dalvinder Singh and Munish Chandan facilitated the departments for fine tuning proposals. The RFP for the e-district will be floated by IT Department Civil Secretariat and project will be implemented by district administration through selected agency. Udhampur is first district selected for the mission project of Government of India, for which connectivity and infrastructure will be provided in offices across the district and special Sahuliat Markaz or Public Service Centres will be established.
Addl DC, CPO, ACR, ACD, CEO, CMO, DFOs XEns of PDD, PHE, STD, PMGSY, JKPCC, REW, ULBS, Deputy Director Employment, DIO NIC, DIO, Asstt Directors of Handloom, Handicrafts, Planning and district and sectoral officers of all the departments attended the meeting.
