Udhampur: Senior Citizens’ Club (Regd) Udhampur (SCCU) in its weekly meeting discussed the situation prevailing in hilly districts Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban that is witnessing ugly situation and smells of creating communal devoid. Although the situation is well under control of the administration, SCCU is of the view that it is not enough and appealed to the administration to look for repressive measures so as to bond the relations between the communities for harmonious relations. President of the club Mahadeep Singh Jamwal stressed upon symbiotic mutuality to live together with love and care for and help each other for a prosperous and stress free living in a common society. He reiterated that when there is discord, unkindness, lack of respect and or selfishness within society, individual members are harmed by others. The greatest of all happiness, next to divine happiness, is to be at peace with one’s immediate relations, those with whom one must live every day in the year. Jamwal said that it always remains the problem with unscrupulous elements in the society to target the most sensitive issues (commentaries on religion) but it is also the responsibility of sane society to prepare itself to counter the same. SCCU appealed to the civil societies to come forward at the testing time to diffuse the situation and be a helping hand to the administration in restoring law and order. Among others members of executive body S/sh. Raj Guru (Gen-Secretary), Sham Lal Gupta (Joint- Secretary), Advisor Dalbir Singh, Sushil Nargotra, Vijay Kumar, Dr Padam Prakash also expressed their opinion.
