Sawhney, Gupta resign as DyAGs

JAMMU: Aseem Sawhney and Amit Gupta Deputy Advocate Generals in the J&K High Court Jammu saturday tendered their resignations.
In separate resignations sent to the Government of J&K through Commissioner/ Secretary Law, Justice and PA the two Law Officers – Aseem Sawhney and Amit Gupta both the law officers stated that they were appointed as Dy. Advocate Generals, J&K High Court Jammu by the Government then headed by the Governor N N Vohra, vide Govt. Order no. 1195- LD (A) of 2016 dated 17.3.2016 alongwith other team of Law officers, under tutelage of then Advocate General Mr D C Raina.
“Since the Government has now appointed new Advocate General vide SRO 180 dated 3rd June 2016, therefore propriety, high ethics and traditions of the profession, demand, that I should tender my resignation to pave way for the Government to form its new team of Law officers under the aegis of the new Advocate General” the resignation said.
The Law Officers expressed gratitude to the Governor, the Government headed by Mehbooba Mufti, the Law Minister, Advocate General, Law Secretary and all others associated with them during this period.
