Sawan Mahotsav 2025 begins at Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir with devotional splendour

JAMMU: Continuing its annual tradition, the ancient and revered Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir in Jammu marked the beginning of the holy month of Sawan with a spiritually uplifting Bhajan Sandhya, as part of Sawan Mahotsav 2025.

Well-known singers Dharmesh Nargotra and Pankaj Pradhan presented soulful and melodious classical bhajans, which deeply touched the hearts of all devotees present. A graceful Kathak dance performance was also presented by Kritika Dutt and her team from Nrityanjali, under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Priya Dutta. The expressive dance, steeped in devotion, further enhanced the sanctified atmosphere of the event.
The programme began with a Ganesh Vandana presented by the new batch of students from Panjvaktra Mahadev Ved Pathshala, followed by the recitation of sacred Vedic chants by the Vidarthis, which set a serene and spiritual tone for the evening.
The devotional setting was beautifully complemented by the musical excellence of eminent accompanists -Guru Ashutosh Mangotra on Harmonium, Amarjeet Singh (Violin), Parshotam Kumar (Pakhawaj), Rakesh Anand (Flute), Vinay (Tabla), Aarv Nargotra on Guitar- whose collective performance created a spiritually resonant and uplifting experience for all present.
On the occasion, a devotional Bhajan dedicated to Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir was also released. The Bhajan has been melodiously sung by Mukteshi Sharma, Mahima, and Samiksha. The lyrics were written by Vijay Atri, while the music was conceived and composed by Amarjeet Singh.
The temple was enveloped in an atmosphere of peace, devotion, and reverence, as the confluence of music, dance, and collective prayer created a profound spiritual experience. The sacred ambience reminded many of the ancient traditions where temples served as vibrant centres of cultural expression and inner awakening.
Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir will continue to organize Bhajan Sandhyas every Monday during the month of Sawan, bringing together devotees, artists, and cultural enthusiasts in celebration of India’s devotional heritage.
Suresh Kumar Sharma, Receiver, Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the participating artists and devotees for making the inaugural evening memorable. He extended a warm invitation to all to attend the upcoming Mondays and experience the divine energy and cultural richness that define this sacred Mahotsav. He also shared that, as part of this ongoing cultural and spiritual revival, more nationally renowned artists will be joining in the coming weeks to present soulful bhajans and devotional performances, making each Monday evening a unique and spiritually fulfilling experience.
The proceedings of the event were conducted by Raj Kumar Behrupia, while the program was managed by dedicated devotees.
