JAMMU: Former Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Pawan Kumar Gupta and Baldev Raj Sharma, who are also contesting candidates from Udhampur and Reasi Constituencies respectively, on Thursday asked Central leadership to save the State BJP from the clutches of present incumbents of State President Jugal Kishore and J and K State Legislature Party Leader, Ashok Khajuria being both under clout and damaging the interests of party.
They have raised objection on BJP State President Jugal Kishore Sharma alleging that he was involved in murder case.
Taking a dig at the BJP State President, they said the police had filed closure report in the case but the court had asked for re-investigation in the case, while National Human Right Commission (NHRC) in 2011 had also directed government to arrest of Jugal Kishore.
They added that Jugal Kishore is said to have not cooperated with the police because of his such high position as sitting MLA of Nagrotra1 Constituency -and further presently member Parliament as well and the investigation of the case is still in limbo.
Such incumbent Jugal Kishore Sharma despite of his involvement in the aforesaid case got blessings and rewards consequently one after another, even the seat of Pardesh President, once held by late Prem Nath Dogra, they said.
On the one side BJP said that the dynastic rule should come to an end, but, they said, on the other where the ethics of dynastic rule in case of Jugal Kishore family while mandating his real brother Nand Kishore.
On the issue of allied cross voting in J and K BJP, they said Jugal Kishore Sharma remained sole MLA from BJP in J&K State Legislative Assembly from 2002-2008. During this tenure election to Rajya Sabha seats and Legislative Council were held on five occasions. Interestingly accordingly to the relevant record of J&K State Legislative Assembly, they said Jugal Kishore Sharma exercised his votes on such occasions despite of the fact neither there was any official candidate of the BJP nor its officially supported candidates, thus the people want to know as to whom such votes were cast by the Jugal Kishore Sharma coupled with considerations so involved therein, pinpointing the person at whose instance such votes were cast to a person outside of BJP. The reason behind under carpeting such vital issues also deserved to be brought in light.
Jugal Kishore Sharma was appointed by the then Pradesh President Ashok Khajuria as an observer to check the open votes in case of the election to the Rajya Sabha seats caused in J&K in the year 2009. Interestingly two votes from BJP came short in favour of its supported candidate despite the fact that open voting was made under the close check of Jugal Kishore Sharma, the then Deputy Legislature Party leader. Such vital issue of cross voting was under carpeted by the State BJP.
Silence of BJP over the wild allegations of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah against the Ashok Khajuria, they said Ashok Khjauria in a press conference threatened to file a defamation case against the Chief Minister but afterwards became silent and further the party under carpeted the matter despite humiliating position created for J&K State BJP.
