SRINAGAR: The Committee on Environment of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly which met here under the Chairmanship of MLA, G.M. Saroori to discuss the issue of adulterated fuel.
The meeting expressed concern that adulterated fuel is the major contributing factor in generating emissions thereby polluting the environment on the large-scale. The meeting also deliberated on the Action Taken Report on the recommendations/suggestions contained in the 5th Report of Predecessor Committee on Environment.
Legislators, Shamim Firdous, Abdul Majeed Larmi, Altaf Ahmed Wani, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Daleep Singh, Dr. Krishan Lal, Mohammad Abass Wani, Dina Nath, Neelam Kumar Langeh, Devinder Kumar Manyal, Dr. Gagan Bhagat and Anjum Fazili attended the meeting and gave their valuable suggestion to improve the functioning of the committee.
The committee sought detailed report on working of Flour Mills in the state and other issues of Pollution Control Board and CAPD department.
Secretary, CAPD, Saurabh Bhagat apprised the committee about various measures taken by the department to control pollution besides Chairman Pollution Control Board, Abdul Razak also briefed the Committee about the agenda points which were discussed in the meeting.
Director CAPD, G.S Chib, other senior officers of concerning department besides Officer and Official of Assembly Secretariat were also attended the meeting.
