Sarfu’s wife makes startling revelations Over 2.5 kg heroin, Rs 4 lakh cash recovered

JAMMU: Continuing investigations into the recovery of narcotics from Khour area of the Jammu District, during a raid, wherein wife of deceased trans- border smuggler was arrested, the police on Thursday recovered another consignment of 2.5 kg heroin.
The joint team of Jammu police and Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) led by SDPO Akhnoor Dy SP Naresh Singh conducted the raid on the disclosures made by Preeto Devi, wife of Sarfu, who died under suspicious circumstances inside JIC cell, in 2011.
FIR 29/15 under section 8,21,22 NDPS Act was registered against Sarfu’s wife last month when, on the instance of Punjab Police, a raid was conducted at her house at Khour and Rs 8 lakh and a consignment of narcotics was recovered.
Today, five packets of heroin weighing 2,475 grams, Rs 4,49,900 and a gold set weighing 32 grams were recovered.
Police said more recoveries and arrests are likely to be made as Preeto Devi has made many startling inputs, which could help police to nab trans-border narco smugglers.
