SAMBA: Samba Zone outplayed Ramgarh Zone by a wafer thin margin of one run to take away the inter-zonal under-17 boys’ cricket tournament of district Samba held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Sports Stadium, here on Thursday.
Vishav was declared Man of the Match for his all round performance of three wickets and 22 runs for the winning team. Savan Kumar was adjudged best batsman while best bowler title went to Sachin.
The final was witnessed besides others by Chief Guest, MLA Samba, Dr D.K Manyal. SSP Samba, Joginder Manhas was Guest of Honour.
Earlier, District Officer, Samba, Subash Chander Bhardwaj presented a brief note of the competition to the distinguished gathering.
Among others present were Rakesh Verma, B.D Sharma, Vijay Singh Slathia, Pardeep Singh and Raghubir Singh (all Zonal Physical Education Officers).
