Samba Warriors men, women teams lift trophies

34th District Samba Volleyball C’ship concludes

SAMBA: Samba Warriors won men and women trophies of 34th District Samba Volleyball (men and women) Championship organised by the Volleyball Association of District Samba under the aegis of Volleyball Association of J&K at Volleyball Academy Tarlokpur in Jakh, here on Sunday.
In the men’s final played today, Samba Warriors beat JCB Dugh by 3-2 (25-22, 25-12, 17-25, 20-25, 5-15) while in women’s final, Samba Warriors beat Pathseeker by 3-1 (27-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-18).
Today’s matches were officiated by Mulkhraj Sharma, Parvinder Singh and Ajay Kumar.
in the closing ceremony, Sanjeev Sharma, PRO of Dr Jitendra Singh (PMO office) was the Chief Guest while Sudershan Singh Slathia, DDC Member and Amarjeet Singh were the Guests of Honour and Mohan Lal Sarpanch (Moni) was the Special Guest. They gave away trophies to winner and runner-up teams.
Other dignitaries present the closing ceremony include Ramesh Kumar Sharma, President District volleyball Association Samba, B.S Jamwal Secretary District Volleyball Association Samba, Satpal Sharma, Variender Singh (Panch), Rohini, Ayisha and Happy Verma.
Earlier, the two-day event was inaugurated by the Shilpa Dubey DDC member, who was Chief Guest on Saturday.
Other dignitaries present in opening ceremony were Varinder Singh, Ramesh Kumar Sharma, B.S Jamwal and Satpal Sharma.
In total, 20 teams took part in this event, including four in women section.
Others Results: MEN: Dogra Club beat Paloura Club 2-0 (25-15, 25-18); Barjani beat Barikhad 2-0 (25-17, 25-18); Swankha beat Gho Bhramna 2-1 (25-21, 23-25, 15-07); Ramgarh beat Rajneesh Club 2-0 (25-11, 25-11); Pathseaker School beat BBN HSS 2-0 (26-24, 25-19); MK Club beat Super Spiker 2-0 (25-17, 25-19); JBC Dugh beat BBC 2-0 (25-17, 25-16); Samba Warriors beat Dahmore 2-0 (25-16, 25-13).
WOMEN: Samba Warriors beat BBN 25-13, 25-17; Pathseaker beat Gho Bhramna 25-13, 25-13.
Matches on opening day were officiated by the technical panel including Sourav, Liquat Ali, Aman, Pervez, Udhayaveer, Neeraj, Rohani Devi, Ayisha Tabssum, Ishima Verma , Lavanya Mahajan and Monika Bhagal.
