Samba Police organises Kabaddi tournament at Ghagwal

SAMBA: Samba Police on Saturday organized interesting Kabaddi Tournament under Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Government Degree College Ghagwal where SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, Deputy SP DAR Ajay Anand, and SHO Ghagwal Bharat Bhushan presented cash rewards along with trophies and certificates to the players in the presence of BDC Chairman Suresh Kumar, Ex-OBC Chairman Rashpal Verma, ZPEO Vikas Gupta, Headmaster Girls High School Ghagwal Manohar Lal, Sarpanch Sangwali Tarsem Singh, Ex-Sarpanch Jia Lal and hundreds of other prominent citizens of the area.
Total eight Kabaddi teams from different areas of district Samba had participated in the tournament which was played on knock out basis.
In league matches, Future Fighter beat Parshuram Club, Narsingh Club beat Shine 07, Hanuman Club beat KV Samba and GDC Ghagwal beat Tapyal Club.
In semi-finals, Future Fighter beat Hanuman Club and Narsingh Club beat GDC Ghagwal.
In final, Narsingh Club beat Future Fighter and emerged as winner of the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Samba Benam Tosh said that police would organize more youth-oriented events in Samba district with the main objective of infusing determination among the youth to stay away from drug abuse and bad company under all circumstances.
SSP congratulated all the Kabaddi players of all the participating teams and their friends and families for exhibiting high degree of team spirit and keen interest while playing in the ground.
Benam Tosh said that the aim of organizing such sports event is to provide a platform to the youth to explore their hidden talent and nourish their capabilities to be utilized for the betterment of the society and eradication of drug menace once for all.
