Samba police imparts Cyber Jaagrookta among students

SAMBA: District Police Samba has organized Cyber Jaagrookta (awareness) Diwas at various educational institutions and at village level in District Samba as a part of its programme to make the public aware of cyber crime threats and ways to avoid becoming victims of cyber fraud.
In today’s cyber awareness drive, the officers of Samba Police visited various educational institutions viz MV International School Vijaypur, Govt. Girls Middle School Purmandal, Govt. Higher Secondary School, Sumb (Samba), Tagore High School, Harsath (Ghagwal), Govt Higher Secondary School, Ramgarh as well as Panchayat Palli (Bari- Brahmana) and delivered lectures on Basic Do’s & Don’ts for Cyber Safety/ Cyber Hygiene, on various types of cyber frauds and the modus operandi used by the cyber criminals to dupe the innocent people.
The participants were advised to remain extra cautious while doing any activity on the internet and not to share personal credentials/ Bank details/ OTP with any unknown person. Basic protocols of Cyber Hygiene were also highlighted during the Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas. The participants were also made aware of the rising threats of cyber security and the ways in which criminals commit fraud on the internet.
SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, on Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas said that the objective of the “Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas” is to educate youngsters for cyber safe environment and to increase cyber hygiene for prevention of cybercrimes.
