SAMBA: The Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda on Wednesday held an interactive session with petrol pump dealers of the district and discussed wide range of issues with them.
She sought details of basic facilities available at the filling stations and urged dealers to comply with latest guidelines issued by oil companies with respect to public amenities. She said that the district has seen spurt in accident figures and asked dealers to support road safety drive launched by the district administration with initiative like ‘No Helmet/No fuel’ and making ‘Seat belt mandatory’ for filling fuel in vehicles. She also asked them to make sure that after filling fuel, vehicles do not exit from wrong direction.
The petroleum dealers also projected their issues and assured full support for the ‘Road Safety Drive’ and other initiatives of the district administration as responsible civil society members.
The meeting was also attended by Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Ajay Verma , Assistant Director FCS& CA Nazir Ahmed Shah , President Petroleum Dealers Association Jammu and all dealers from Samba District.
