Samba men, Kashmir women bag Tennis Ball cricket titles

JAMMU: District Samba in men’s section and Kashmir Division in women category lifted the title trophies of the IX State Tennis Ball Cricket Championship held under the banner of J and K Tennis Ball Cricket Association at Green Fields Ground, here on Friday. In the men’s final, Samba outplayed district Jammu by one wicket.
Batting first, Jammu made 32 runs for two wickets in allotted six overs, which, in reply, Samba chased in 5.3 overs. Rahil was declared Man of the Match. Earlier, in the semifinals, Jammu beat Poonch by seven wickets while Samba outplayed district Reasi by seven runs.
Similarly, in women category, Kashmir Division defeated their counterparts from Jammu Division by 33 runs. Batting first, Kashmir made 77 runs for three wickets. In reply, Jammu women were bundled out for 44 runs.
Member Parliament (MP), Nazir Ahmed Laway was Chief Guest, who gave away the title trophies and individual prizes. Syed Ifaq of Royal Yamaha was Guest of Honour.
