NAGROTA: An orientation workshop for teachers of Government schools under Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education was organised by Sainik School Nagrota on 4th and 5th of January 2016 at the School Auditorium. The objective of the workshop was to enhance teaching skills and update the knowledge and awareness of teachers working in schools under J&K Board. 72 teachers from Dansal, Jammu and RS Pura Zones participated in this workshop to enrich their profession competence. Colonel Kapil Dev Koushal, Principal, Sainik School Nagrota formally inaugurated the workshop on 4th January 2016 at the school Auditorium and delivered an enlightening presentation on the topic ” Teaching Skills for 21st Century Educators”. He impressed on the point that teachers must not only teach their knowledge, but also must live their knowledge in order to bring positive changes in the society.
Further, the two-day workshop covered various topics including “Stress Management and How to be and Effective Teacher” by Lt Col Deepak Singh Thakur, Vice Principal and “Ego Defence Mechanising “and “Self Motivation for Teachers” by Sqn Ldr Vipin Kumar Sharma, Administrative Officer of the school.
Besides, lecture on “Effective Communication Skills and Classroom Management” were also delivered by the faculty of the school. At the culmination of the workshop Colonel Kapil Dev Koushal gave away certificates to all the participants. The second and third phases of the workshop are scheduled to be held on 11-12 Jan 2016 and 15-16 Jan 2016 respectively.
