Sain Club Gurha Mundian wins 3rd Open Volleyball Title

HIRANAGAR: Sain Baba Volleyball Club Gurha Mundian won the 3rd Open Volleyball Tournament organised by Khajuria Volleyball under the aegis of Volleyball Association of J and K, which concluded here on Sunday. In the final, Sain Baba Volleyball Club Gurha Mundian defeated Volleyball Club Pathwal by 3-1 (32-30, 21-25 , 25-21, 25-19) sets.
Earlier, in the semifinals, Sain Baba Club Gurha Mundian defeated Volleyball Club Mela by 3-2 and Volleyball Club Pathwal outplayed host Volleyball Club Bannair by 3-1.
Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir gave away cash award of Rs.2,000 to the winner team.
On the concluding day, Kuldip Raj, Member Legislative Assembly was the Chief Guest while Kuldip Magotra, Chief Executive Officer Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir and second in command ITBP 4th Battalion, D.S Yadav were the Guests of Honour. Madan Lal
Toofan, President Volleyball Association Kathua, welcomed the dignitaries.
The tournament was officiated by the technical panel comprising Mohinder Sharma, Madan Lal, Ram Lal and Prince Mehta. Shashi Khajuria was the organiser of the tournament.
Other prominent dignitaries present on the occasion included Treasurer, Volleyball Association of J and K, R.C Sharma and former Deputy Commissioner, O.P Sharma. At the end, all the participants and coaches were felicitated while the Chief Guest blessed the winning team.
The tournament evoked good response and saw enthusiastic participation by youngsters.
