Sai Montessori School initiates Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign

JAMMU: Sai Montessori High School New Plot Janipur in collaboration with Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) held Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign under the guidance of Soujanya Sharma, Commissioner JMC here on Monday.

The Municipal Commissioner accompanied by MVO/Zonal Officer II, JMC and CTO, JMC visited Sai Montessori High School for promoting ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.

He stressed on the need to take forward this campaign with utmost devotion and urgency as it is the need of modern India.

“Municipal Corporation is taking forward the awareness campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Municipal Corporation officers will be visiting the various schools in Jammu city under this programme”, he informed.

He discussed ways in which each member of the community can contribute in achieving the goal of Swachh Bharat. He sought support of masses especially students in promoting the Swachh Bharat Campaign. He concluded his address by taking the promise from the students that they will act as ambassadors of this endeavour.

After the interactive session pamphlets were distributed among the students to generate awareness. After that, Commissioner, JMC flagged off a students’ march in connection with ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.

The Principal, Jagjit Jolly, extended his gratitude to Soujanya Sharma for sharing his valuable thoughts and making school a partner in ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.’

 

Meanwhile, Commissioner, JMC carried out a sanitation drive in Ward No. 16, 17, 18 and 25. On the spot assessment of the sanitary conditions and performance of other Municipal services was made and necessary instructions were issued for improvement of civic amenities. Commissioner JMC also appealed to the general public that house hold waste may be properly got collected and disposed off at collection points / Municipal Bins through Safaikaramcharis for ensuring proper cleanliness in their respective localities and to make Jammu city neat and clean.
