Sahai represents ICC Jammu in interaction with official delegation of Govt of Cambodia

NEW DELHI: Reaffirming the deep civilizational and cultural ties between India and Cambodia, Rahul Sahai, Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Jammu Chapter, presented an idol of Lord Ram to the official delegation of the Government of Cambodia during a high-level interaction held in New Delhi. The symbolic gesture highlighted the shared heritage of the Ramayana, which holds a revered place in Cambodian culture as the Reamker, reflected in its classical dance, literature, and temple architecture, including the iconic depictions at Angkor Wat.

The meeting took place at The Imperial Hotel, Connaught Place, in a formal setting aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation. The Cambodian delegation was led by His Excellency Tith Rithipol, Under Secretary of State, Ministry of Commerce, Kingdom of Cambodia, along with the Cambodian Ambassador to India and senior export officials. Discussions focused on enhancing trade relations, promoting private-sector collaboration, and building structured engagement between business communities of both nations.
Key sectors explored during the interaction included renewable energy, healthcare, agro-processing, MSME partnerships, tourism, education, and digital commerce. Rahul Sahai highlighted the economic potential of Jammu & Kashmir, particularly in horticulture, food processing, tourism infrastructure, light manufacturing, and renewable energy, stating that regional industry bodies can play a vital role in converting diplomatic goodwill into practical business opportunities.
A significant outcome of the meeting was the mutual agreement to organise a future ICC Jammu & Kashmir business delegation to Cambodia. The visit aims to explore on-ground opportunities, strengthen industrial partnerships, and expand trade linkages between the regions.
His Excellency Tith Rithipol appreciated the constructive dialogue and expressed optimism about expanding economic engagement through stronger private-sector participation. The interaction was attended by representatives from leading Indian business houses, industry institutions, and senior policymakers, concluding on a positive and forward-looking note for India-Cambodia economic cooperation.
