SRINAGAR: Additional DGP S M Sahai has been appointed as Joint Secretary in National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS).
Sahai will be working on this coveted position at the NSCS directly commanded and controlled by Prime Minister.
The appointments committee of Union Cabinet has approved the appointment of S M Sahai IPS J&K 1987 as Joint Secretary in NSCS for a period of five years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post. Sahai is the first IPS officer of J&K cadre to occupy this key position.
Besides holding various vital positions in J&K Police, Sahai earlier served as DIG Crime Branch, IGP Kashmir Range. He also held the important post of ADGP (Additional Director General Police) CID in J&K. Meanwhile, H.K Lohia, IPS Officer of 1992 Batch of JK Cadre has been appointed as IGP in BSF.
