Sadhotra led NC team visits GMC, enquires about condition of injured in terrorist attack

JAMMU: National Conference Additional General Secretary and former Minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra on Tuesday called for ensuring a robust security grid and enhanced surveillance mechanism to avert the gruesome acts of terrorism like the recent one in Reasi, saying this is imperative in view of the ensuing Shri Amarnathji Yatra on Kashmir Himalayas and 24X7X365 Mata Vaishno Devi ji Yatra on Trikuta Hills.
“The gruesome and inhuman killing of 10 Shiv Khori Yatris including a child is highly condemnable and the terrorists behind the horrendous attack should be dealt with”, Sadhotra said after visiting the Government Medical College Hospital here this afternoon, along with a team of senior National Conference leaders, to enquire about the condition of injured Yatris.
The team comprised of Abdul Gani Malik, Zonal President Udhampur-Reasi Zone and former Minister, Jagjivan Lal, District President Reasi and former Minister, Ankush Abrol Joint Secretary Jammu Province National Conference, Rakesh Sharma District President YNC Jammu Rura, Dr. Vikas Sharma Zonal Secretary Jammu-Samba-Kathua Zone, Romesh Mehra District President OBC Jammu Rural and Munna Block President OBC Marh.
Sadhotra sought increased presence of security forces in critical zones, especially those identified as high risk besides integrated approach between various security and intelligence agencies. Creating euphoria on normalcy dawning in Jammu and Kashmir is not a solution to countering the situation but results should be seen on ground with the people feeling a sense of security, he said, hoping this will receive priority attention from the government. The Team led by Sadhotra met the injured, enquired about their condition, prayed for their early recovery and expressed solidarity of the National Conference with them. They also shared the agonies of the families, who lost their dear ones in the gruesome terror attack. He said the people of Jammu and Kashmir are with them at this hour of pain.
Sadhotra appreciated the Doctors and Paramedics for putting their best efforts in treating the injured and saving their lives and lauded the District Administration Reasi for prompt evacuation measures. He expressed satisfaction over the teams from the Reasi district and Uttar Pradesh monitoring the condition of the injured in the hospital. Sadhotra described terrorism as a challenge, saying that the civilized world will have to give a united fight to counter this menace. He exhorted the people to be united against the monster of terror.
The National Conference Additional General Secretary sought increased ex-gratia compensation for the next of kin of the deceased in this gruesome attack and to ensure specialized treatment of the injured at government expenses.
