Royal Women Cricket Tournament Season-2 begins

JAMMU: Royal Mega Star won the opening match of the Royal Woman’s Cricket Tournament Season-2 being organized by the Royal Women’s Cricket Club at Government Women College Gandhi Nagar ground, here on Monday.
The tournament in which three women teams namely Super Strikers, Pink Panthers and Royal Mega Star are participating was inaugurated by Dr. Sangeeta Nagri, Principal of Gandhi Nagar College.
The tournament is organising under the supervision of Club President Veena Sharma, Treasurer Anita Gupta, Shambhu Nath Sharma and Dr. Rupali Salathia.
the matches were officiated by Satika Sharma, Meenu Salathia, Surekha Singh, Ankita Jalla, Naina Kashyap and Ashima Pathania.
in opening match, Royal Mega Star outplayed Super Strikers to qualify for the next round.
Royal Mega Star won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, the Super Strikers set a target of 104 runs for their opponent. Lalita was the top scorer with 19 runs while Alia made 16. For Royal Mega Star, Sandhya and Deepakkshi grabbed two wickets while Abriq claimed one.
Royal Mega Star chased the target and won the match. Rudrakshi played a fine innings of 47 runs Bushra added 10 runs to the total. For Super Strikers, Nadia scalped six wickets for nine runs in five-over spell but could not save her team from defeat. Alia also took two wickets.
Prof. Suresh Bhatt, Prof. Hardayal Singh, Prof. Sujata Salathia, Prof. D.S Manhas, Prof. Renu Salathia, Prof. Sunil Kumar, Prof. Nirlpe Kaur and others were present on the occasion.
