Rs 30.65 cr spent under irrigation sector in Nowshera: Sham

SRINAGAR: The Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Sham Lal Choudhary on Friday informed the Legislative Council that the funds of Rs 36.72 crore were allocated to the irrigation sector of I&FC division Nowshera in the last five years.
Responding to a question raised by Surinder Kumar Choudhary, the minister said the department has spent Rs 30.65 crore out of the allocated budget in these five years (2011-2016).
The minister informed the house that Rs 94.75 lakh were spent out of allocated 95 lakh under FPW Flood Sector in the division, while Rs 29 lakh were spend under OPW Flood Sector and Rs 34.81 lakh were spent under BADP. The minister further informed that 1340 crates were purchased during the past three years from the authorized government departments and tenders were floated by the department who are authorized to issue the crates.
The Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control said that 52870 bags of cement were purchased by I&FC division in the last three years.
