Rs 10.58 cr released for model village Shah Balode: Haq

JAMMU: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Abdul Haq Khan on Monday informed the government has released Rs. 10.58 crore for creation of different facilities for model village Shah Balode (village Mananu and Dhora) in Samba.
He further said Rs 7.70 crore have been utilised on creation of infrastructure in the village from the financial year 2010-11 to 2016-17 so far. Besides, 48 works are in the progress in the village on which Rs 3.4 crore has been expended, he added.
The Minister was replying to a question raised by Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal.
Under 13th Finance Commission Awards, the Department has outlined some components for execution including construction of Panchayat Ghars, repair and renovation of existing Panchayat Ghars, creation of assets, development of e-Panchayats, construction of Common Facility Cenres, construction of Panchayat Bhawans, construction of Block Development Council Buildings and infrastructure of Divisional Level Training Institutes.
Meanwhile, on behalf of Minister for Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Haq Khan informed the House that the government has released Rs 35 crore to restore the temporary and permanent damages caused by floods in river Phuktal in Leh. The funds include Rs 20 crore under SDRF and Rs 15 crore under PMDP, he added.
For Kalchakra, against the proposed requirement of Rs. 15.25 crore, an amount of Rs. 6.91 crore has been authorised and balance funds will be considered in phases and subject to availability of resources, he added.
