JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Radio Kashmir, Jammu jointly felicitated a renowned theatre activist, actor, Kavi Rattan in a function held at KL Saigal Hall, here under its regular series of interaction and felicitation programme entitled ‘Jharokha’.
N.D Jamwal, a multi-faceted personality a recipient of Sahitya Akademi Award presided whereas Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL, V.K Sambyal, Director, Radio Kashmir, Jammu and Kavi Rattan were also present in the presidium.
Jamwal said that this sincere efforts of the Academy and Radio not only play a mark of respect to the felicitator but it also provide an opportunity to younger generation to have an interaction with one and another.
Earlier, Director, RKJ, V.K Sambyal said that RKJ and JKAACL has been doing this programme for the last some month which is receiving overwhelming response. Encouraging by this response JKAACL and RKJ have decided to come up with new programmes in near future, he added.
Mohan Singh a renowned Dogri writer read out detailed paper on the life and works of Kavi Rattan. Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri of the Academy readout citation on the occasion.
Kavi Rattan highlighted some important events of his life.
Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary JKAACL whereas Reeta Rani a famous singer and Asstt. Editor in the Academy conducting the proceedings of the programme
Among other were present Deepak Kumar, Madan Ringala, Mustaq Kak, O.P Sakir, Bhopinder Singh, Rajeshwar Singh Raju, Shiv Dev Singh Manhas, Baljeet Singh Raian, Kanta Sharma, Sapana Soni, Vijay Goswami, Danesh Dogra, Sharat Sharma, Gardhari Lal Sharma and Dr. Kamal Sharma.
