Rich tributes paid to Father of Nation


REASI: Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Reasi celebrated Gandhi Jayanti in the premises of the District Office, Mini Secretariat Reasi.
The celebration was attended by the staff members of the KVIB. The function started with lighting the traditional lamp and paying floral tributes to Gandhiji by Sadiq Hussain District Officer KVIB Reasi.
KATRA : On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, former Minister and MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma paid tributes to the Father of the Nation.
MLC recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s signal contributions to the struggle for the achievement of freedom from the colonial yoke, his sustained campaign against social injustice, racism and suppression of the under-privileged sections and his unending pursuit for the establishment of a truly secular and harmonious society.
On the occasion, MLC also distributed relief material among the flood victims.
KATHUA : District Congress Committee President and former Member Legislative Council Subash Chander Gupta described Mahatma Gandhi as real saint who earned name in the entire world by showing his tolerance against violence. He said Gandhiji’s contribution is matchless and everyone inspires from his teachings and acts.
While speaking in a function organised by District Congress Committee Kathua , Gupta said real tributes to this saint would be to follow his foot- steps and promote communal harmony, mutual brotherhood and uplifting of poor and needy.
Prominent among those who also paid tribute -S. Manohar Singh, Rattan Chand Karlotra, Naresh Kumar Sharma , Pankaj Dogra, Kewal Sharma, Aradhana Andotra, Pushpa Majotra, Sharda Jasrotia, Yugal Bali, Pawan Kumar, S. Ravinder Singh Nittu, Som Nath, Meahesh Sharma, Kulbushan Kumar, S Mohinder Singh, Kunati Kumar, Rajesh Kumar , Krishan Chand and Lucky.
Meanwhile Youth Congress activists under the leadership of Advocate Ajat Shatru Sharma Ex-DYC President Kathua celebrated 145th Birth Anniversary of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Old Age Home Kathua. A large number of Youth Congress activists and Old Age Home inmates joined together in giving floral tributes to the Gandhi.
Others who participated in the function include Youth Congress Booth President Sanjjiv Sharma, JeevanJyoti, Naveen Sangra, Advocate Rajesh Kumar,Sumit Sharma, Vishal Thakur, Abhimanyu Saini, Shubham Pansotra, Deepak Singh and Jugal Kishore etc. besides other Youth Congress activists.
RAJOURI: To pay rich tribute To apostle of non violence Mahatma Gandhi, a function was organised at Himalayan College Rajouri in which a large number of students of the college and teachers participated.
The programme was jointly chaired by Pankaj Chandan Project Director WWF Pir Panchal Range, Prof Mohd Sharif Chouhan Principal HCE and Dr Abdul Mabood V. Principal of the College. Chief Guest stressed upon the students to recall the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi based on peace, non-violence and communal harmony.
