Revenue Officers Association calls on Veeri; highlights demands

JAMMU: A deputation of All Jammu and Kashmir Revenue Officers Association (2009 batch) on Wednesday called on Minister for Revenue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Abdul Rehman Veeri and apprised him about their various demands.
While interacting with the deputation, Veeri asked the officers to work with missionary zeal for the benefit of the all sections of the society. The deputation led by its President Rajesh Baru presented a charter of demands to the Minister and raised issues pertaining to their service in particular and department in general.
They also highlighted their demands related to shortage of staff in newly created units, availability of requisite accommodation and vehicles for revenue officers, rationalisation of transfer policy for Revenue Department keeping in view the topography of the State, time frame release of salary, extra two and half day salary for revenue officers and officials due to their hectic job chart, confirmation of In-charge and look after Tehsildars and other issues related to revenue, relief and rehabilitation.
Veeri impressed on them to adopt participatory model of development and make sure that all sections of the society receive due share in the development.
He directed the officers and field staff to adhere to the timeline in issuance of certificates and documents like Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), Reserve Category Certificate, Dependent Certificate, Income Certificate, Fard Intikhab, Extract of Girdawari, Extract of Massavi, Extract of Jamabandi, Attestation of Mutation, Marriage certificate and other related documents.
Veeri also said that the department is contemplating to organise a one-day conference of Tehsildar, Naib-Tehsildar level officers where they can have interaction with experienced officers of the department at higher level. “It would provide a platform to both sides to present their viewpoint across,” he added.
Later, Veeri assured the Association that all their demands and issues would be redressed in a time frame manner.
