ReTs threaten to Gherao Secretariat

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: All J&K ReT Teachers Forum on Sunday lambasted the State Government and Education Department who is sleeping in deep slumber as thousands of ReT teachers working under SSA are without salary for the last six months.
In the meeting held here on Sunday, State President of the Forum, Vinod Sharma said that the families of these teachers are living miserable lives as they are unable to provide proper food and clothing to their children and medicines to their old and ailing parents. They have projected this issue from bottom to top several times and even highlighted this issue during peaceful protest but nothing has been done to streamline the SSA salary which is a matter of great concern, he said.
Sharma further said that instead of releasing several months SSA salary, ReTs are being harassed on the name of screening test as CEO Jammu has made a list of all distance mode degree holders including JU, KU, IGNOU, MANUU and other reputed universities which is a clear cut violation of Court order and Government order No 184 where in only fake degree holders are to be screened and such step of the CEO Jammu and CEO Kishtwar is condemned by the Forum and it will not be tolerated at any cost.
While hailing the High Court judgement regarding transfer of ReTs regularised as General Line Teachers, Sharma stressed for immediate implementation of the said order in letter and spirit.
The Forum appealed to the Chief Minister to personally intervene in this regard and resolve the issues of SSA salary and screening test so that thousands of ReT teachers of the State may not suffer any more who have been working in far flung areas of the State otherwise the Forum would be forced to Gherao Secretariat by locking their respective schools.
Others who also spoke on the occasion include Sukhdev Singh Sumbria, Lekh Raj Parihar, Manzoor Khan, Ravinder Singh, Surjit Singh, Ravinder Chib, Subash Chander, Pankaj Verma, Navjot Singh, Rakesh Singh, Rajinder Sharma, Jasbir Singh, Hans Raj, Mohan Lal and Roshan Lal.
