ReTs demand release of SSA salary, regularisation

STATE TIMES NEWS
UDHAMPUR: A monthly meeting of All J and K ReT Teachers’ Forum on Sunday was held at Udhampur under the chairmanship of State President Vinod Sharma and District President Lekh Raj Parihar. The meeting was attended by the Executive Members of the Forum including Zonal Presidents .
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma said that it’s very unfortunate that the Education Department is unable to provide several months salary to SSA teachers and masters whose families are on verge of starvation as they are unable to provide basic facilities to their families including proper food and clothing to their children and medicines to their ailing parents which is a matter of great concerns.
Due to untimely(late) regularisation , there is also a huge pendency in the form of pay arrears, DA arrears etc and the SSA teachers are suffering badly, he said.
He further said that banks have been charging compound interests on the salary loans/ housing loans etc and even seized the accounts of the guarantors and the government must act upon by immediately releasing their pending salaries.
He appealed to the government to make provisions for the clearance of pending four to six months SSA salary and arrears of these teachers so that the families of these teachers may not suffer any more. He also demanded regularisation of ReTs whose files are lying in Directorate of School Education and have obtained degrees from UGC recognised universities ,by implementing Government order No 252 as in many of such cases the department has received the verifications from such universities. He also demanded the transfer policy in favour regularised ReT teachers as per High Court judgement and reiterated that any biased transfer policy will not be accepted by the forum.
Others who also spoke on the occasion were -Sukhdev Singh Sumbria, Sham Sharma , Sukesh Khajuria, Pritam Goswami, Ravinder Singh, Bhushan Khajuria, Anil Sharma, Sushil Singh, Suresh Shama and Deepankar.
