KISHTWAR: As the massive calamity has struck the Kashmir valley causing enormous loss of lives and property, District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Mohd Javed Khan has not only restored the solitary link via Sinthan to Kashmir Valley but also today with his prompt action has succeeded in sending the vehicles of relief material to Srinagar collected in coordination with Kishtwar based NGOs. The relief trucks loaded with all kinds of essential commodities including baby food, 1,000 blankets, LPG cylinders, Kerosene oil, milk, medicine, water were sent to Kashmir today via Sinthan Top the only route to connect the valley. DDC Kishtwar has provided the full support in the form of transport, medical facilities and smooth transportation of these relief loaded heavy and light vehicles.
Meanwhile 340 flood hit victims of erstwhile district Doda and 390 labourers belonging to the different states of country including 31 from neighbouring country Nepal, have been rescued and sent back to their homes.
Earlier Kishtwar Sinthan Road was restored in record time and so far the district administration has managed the safe rescue and travel of about 950 flood hit victims of district Kishtwar, neighbouring districts, Doda and Ramban and other states of India. The relief Camps have been established in Kishtwar town, Chatroo, and Sinthan Top. The rescue task force teams comprising of district officers headed by PO DRDA have been deputed to Srinagar for identification and rescue of the Kishtwar based flood effected victims and their transportation back to Kishtwar. ACD Kishtwar has also been deputed to Srinagar along with contingents of essential commodities like baby food, mineral water, blankets, rice, mustard oil, kerosene oil, medicine etc.
Moreover the district administration of Kishtwar has managed the safe passage of twenty 20 trucks loaded with essential commodities including Oil tankers via Kishtwar Sinthan road to Srinagar.
While dispatching relief loaded vehicles and volunteer to Kashmir DDC Kishtwar Mohd Javed Khan assured on the behalf of district administration and people of Kishtwar to provide round the clock services to the flood hit victims/passengers by ensuring safe dispatch, transport as well as relief essential commodities via Kishtwar Sinthan Road.
