JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Technocrats Association (JKATA) warned State Government to release the salary of Village Agricultural Extension Assistants (VAEA) who have not got salaries for the last 20months failing which the association will sit on fast onto death to awaken the sleeping government.
In the meeting held here on Tuesday, State President JKATA, Dr Surinder Radotra said that the most of 2nd and 3rd phase VAEAs are posted outside their native districts so some have to take rented accommodations and some are travelling in public transports on daily basis to their respective stations of duty.
Radotra warned the State Government to release the salary of agriculture technocrats VAEA at the earliest failure should trigger new wave of agitation.
Radotra appealed to the Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone, Commissioner Secretary APD Parmood Jain, Director Finance Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, Director Agriculture Jammu, A.K Malhotra to intervene in the matter and release salaries of VAEA at the earliest.
