UDHAMPUR: A monthly meeting of all ReT Teachers Forum was held on Sunday at Krishna Palace Udhampur under the chairmanship of State President Vinod Sharma and District President Lekh Raj Parihar which was attended by a large number of delegates of ReT Forum.
While speaking on the occasion Vinod Sharma lambasted the State and the Central Govt. for their casual and biased approach towards ReT teachers in general and regularised ReT teachers under SSA in particular by harassing them by not releasing their salaries for several months.
He said that they have adopted each and every option from deputations to peaceful protests to awaken the department from its deep sleep but except assurances nothing concrete has been done to release their salaries.
On the one hand Education Minister Naeem Akhter is going to revolutionise the education sector by adopting new education policy but on the other hand the Govt. is ignoring the genuine issues of ReT Teachers including release of six to eight months SSA salary, he said. How can he (Education Minister) expect revolution in education sector by ignoring and by harassing ReT community which has been playing a key role in raising the Education standard especially in rural areas by opening closed schools, increasing enrolment, minimising dropout rates and raising literacy rate.
The forum members said that Education Minister has been giving only statements in media and not releasing salaries. So we are left with no other option except to lock our schools and come on roads if the salaries are not released before 10th of May 2015 as our family members are starving and we have got mentally frustrated.
The forum members also appealed the Director School Education Jammu to regularise the ReT teachers whose files are lying in the Directorate Office for the last more than four months.
Others who also spoke include Sham Sharma, Suhkdev Singh, SukeshKhajuria, Ashok Seth, Ravinder Singh, Bhushan Khajuria, Vipin, Balbinder Singh, Sushil Singh, Anil Sharma, Vinay Sharma and Mohd Mustfa.
