BISHNAH: A meeting of prominent workers of Congress Party of Bishnah Constituency was held at Bishnah in which besides Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and former Member CWC-AICC, large number of prominent workers, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Sarpanchs and Panchs participated.
Speaking on the occasion, various leaders showed their grave concern about the loss of crops of farmers due to unprecedented, un-timely rains and condemned the government and the MLA concerned for giving false assurance for providing appropriate relief to badly affected farmers as neither special Girdawari has been conducted uptil now on the basis of which losses are to be assessed nor any, on-account, financial assistance or any kind of help has been extended to them. Demanding immediate action by the government in this regard, they threatened to launch a vigorous agitation if they are not saved from starvation at the earliest.
Charak while speaking on the occasion, warned the government and elected representatives of the people who have ignored such an important problem as this is their responsibility only adding that they should not issue statements in the press only but ensure timely relief.
He further said that the roads, lanes and drains etc. are in dilapidated condition putting the people in un-ending trouble.
In the end, two minutes silence was observed in the memory of the respected mother of Mehar Singh (Organising Secretary, BCC Bishnah) and respected father of Balwant Raj Saini (President Arnia Town Committee) and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved families.
