New Delhi : Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor could completely relate to his character in Homi Adajania’s ‘Finding Fanny’.
The four-film old actor plays a Konkani mechanic Savio Da Gama in the English/ Hindi satirical film based in Goa.
“After doing the film I found that there are many similarities between me and the character. The deadpan nature of saying things, sometimes impulsive reactions, his non-ability to show emotion are things which I realise are very similar to me,” Arjun said.
The film narrates the story of five oddballs who go on a journey to find an old postman’s childhood love Stephanie ‘Fanny’ Fernandes. It will hit theatres on September 12.
Arjun has shunned his muscular image in the film and will be seen in an interesting look of tattoos and cool quirky glasses.
The ‘Gunday’ star gave the credit behind his chic look to his director Homi and his fashionista wife Anaita Shroff.
“Homi and Anaita are behind my look in the film. They wanted my hair to be shabby, so I got a particular hairstyle.
I did three tattoos and I got my birthday tattoo too in the film. There is only one jeans and a t-shirt and shirt. The glasses in the film belong to my father which I discovered one day,” he said.
Arjun started his career in showbiz with Yash Raj’s ‘Ishaqzaade’ followed by ‘Aurangzeb’, ‘Gunday’ and ‘2 States’.
With each film, Arjun feels he has evolved as an actor.
“I am very fortunate that I grew up in a film background.
Since my childhood I have seen how they concentrate on improving their craft. I have also worked with good actors and directors.
“By sharing screen space with them and watching them deliver scenes you get to learn so many things. Anil chachu (Anil Kapoor) has always been my inspiration. He is one of the most disciplined actors I have ever seen,” Arjun said.
