JAMMU: A three-week refresher course in the subject of Life sciences organised by Human Resource Development Centre, University of Jammu in collaboration with the School of Biotechnology concluded here on Tuesday.
Prof. Anju Bhasin, Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu was the Chief Guest in the valedictory function.
Prof. Bhasin said that refresher courses are great opportunity for teachers to refresh their knowledge and come face to face with accomplished experts.
The process enhances their learning and makes them better teachers and researchers, she added.
Prof. Naresh Padha, Director, UGC-HRDC congratulated the Course Coordinator Prof. Jyoti Vakhlu and Dr. B.K. Bajaj (Co-coordinator) for successfully organising the refresher course as per the UGC guidelines. He also highlighted the importance of the sad course especially the practical sessions and educational field trips.
Earlier Prof. Jyoti Vakhlu welcomed the participants and the Chief Guest. Dr. B.K. Bajaj presented a detailed report of the 21 days refresher course.
Ranjeet Kalra, faculty member from HRDC presented a vote of thanks.
Prof. Manoj K Dhar, Prof. D.S. Jamwal, Prof. Yash Pal Sharma, Prof. Namrata Sharma and other faculty members from Life Science and Science Departments of the University also graced the valedictory function.
In all, 23 university and college teachers from both within and outside the State participated in the course. Prof. Anju Bhasin distributed the certificates to successful teachers.
