Red Cross imparts first aid training to 30 SPOs

SRINAGAR: As part of the trainings to other agencies, a special first-aid training was imparted to 30 Special Police Officials (SPOs) by the Master trainers of Indian Red Cross Society, J and K State Branch.

The training programme was organized by Indian Hotel Management, Srinagar where the SPOs are being deputed to undergo training in soft skills for dealing with public especially tourists.

During the training, the participants were trained in handling various cardiac and respiratory emergencies, injuries, wounds and fractures, head and spine injuries, burns and electric shocks and safe handling and transportation of injured.

Advocating the services, Roma Wani, General Secretary IRCS, J and K State said that Red Cross over the last two years has developed a team of National level trainers and special courses on First-aid and Disaster Management have been developed.

She further said that these trainings are useful to everyone and gives them both the skills and confidence to improvise the material whatever is available at the site of an emergency especially when no standard first-aid material is available.
