AKHNOOR: Madan Lal Sharma, veteran Congress leader and former Minister and MP demanded more seats and recruitment of doctors, engineers and other technical wings for Jammu region on the basis of population and hilly/tough terrain. He said that uniform combined test is not appropriate and there should be separate recruitment for Jammu region in view of it being thickly populated. Sharma said this while addressing a series of public meetings at Nai Basti Palwan, Pangari Raje Chack and Kharkana Tok Jagir .
EX. MP lauded the role of Sham Lal Sharma PHE Minister and said that his efforts joined by other Congress Ministers have brought Jammu at par with Kashmir region but in view of the vexed situation more support is required here. He asked the party workers to make strenuous efforts to strengthen the Congress Party at the grass root level and asked them to popularise the programmes and policies of the Congress Party among the masses especially in youth . Sharma said that Congress has taken several initiatives for the welfare of youth and said that Congress will be back to power in J and K and will be one of the coalition partner.
