JAMMU: RCF Kapurthala shall meet Panjab Police in the final of the ongoing Sarbat Da Bhalla Hockey Tournament 2024, organized by Sikh Progressive Front at K.K Hakku Stadium, here tomorrow at 4:45 PM.
Earlier in the first semifinal match played on Saturday, RCF Kapurthala defeated Bathida XI by 3-1 goals via plenty shootout. Both the teams exhibited excellent skills, penetration and locked 2-2 draw in full time. Keeping in view to decide first finalists of the tournament, shoot out was conducted in which RCF Kapurthala defeated Bathida XI. Gurvinder Singh of RCF Kapurthala was adjudged Player of the Match for his excellent ball control, speed and powerful striking ability. Jatinder Singh, IPS grace the occasion as Chief Guest, Jarnail Singh MD Peaks Auto & International and National star of Taekwando, specially able Chandeep Singh were Guests of Honour.
In another semifinal, Panjab Police defeated New Gurdaspur by solidarity 1-0 goal. The Player of the Match trophy was awarded to Paras Malhotra, Goalkeeper for his excellent saves and best anticipations throughout the match. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Arun Manhas, Director Industries and D.P Singh M D JKI was the Guest of Honour.
Last and fourth quarterfinal which was played between Punjab Police and YBC Sujjanpur finished late night yesterday. Punjab Police team lived upto its reputation as their aggression, spirit earned them the win with a big margin of 5-1 goals. Raman Deep Singh, Olympian with the Marvelous stick work won the heart of jury who adjudged him Player of the Match.
