JAMMU: RCC Srinagar and Oriental Club won their respective matches to move into the next round of ongoing Third Christmas Twenty20 Cricket Cup at Parade Ground, here on Tuesday.
Former Ranji player and Organising Secretary of the Tournament, Rajesh Gill interacted with the teams and greeted them Happy Lohri.
Earlier, in the first match, RCC Srinagar defeated SCC by 64 runs. Batting first, RCC Srinagar set a challengeable target of 199 runs for the loss of six wickets. Satish played an unbeaten knock of 83 runs and Aman also played well and made 50. For SCC, Nazir and Sheroj clinched two wickets each while Ashraf and Maroof shared a piece each.
Batting second, SCC could not achieve the target and made only 135 runs for eight wickets in 18 overs. Aijaz (39) and Manzoor (23) runs were the main scorers. Dilbag and Kuldeep took three wickets each while Aman picked apiece. Satish was named Man of the Match.
Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Oriental Club scripted a 48-run win against Young Star XI.
Oriental Club, batting first, made 183 runs losing ten wickets. Vaneet and Chander contributed highest 62 and 23 runs respectively. Dipesh bagged three wickets while Abhishek and Anshul shared two each and Prince took one.
In reply, Young Star XI was bundled out for 135 runs in 17.3 overs with Prince (39), Vinayak (34) and Shubam (18) were the main scorers. Bunty took two wickets while Vicky and Deepak shared one wicket each. Vaneet Raina was adjudged Man of the Match.
Today’s matches were officiated by the technical panel including Suhail Yusuf, Nitu Khokher, Vinod and Farooq.
