JAMMU: Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) lifted the title trophy in the Fourth Baisakhi Twenty20 Tri-Series League Tournament outplaying Janipur Cricket Club (JCC) by 32 runs in the final played at Parade Ground, here today. The event was organised by Vishal Cricket Club.
Earlier, in the summit clash, RCC won the toss and deciding to bat first scored 131 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Sandeep Singh top scored with 46 runs while Parveen and Istiaq contributed 23 and 20 runs respectively. Aman took four wickets while Johnson and Sourav shared two each for JCC.
In reply, JCC could not chase the total and was bundled out for 99 runs in 17.1 overs thereby losing the match by 32 runs. Deepak, Sourav and Johnson were top scorers with 17 runs each. For RCC, Varun emerged as most successful bowler, who claimed five wickets. Kuldeep took two while Istiaq, Dilbag and Praful shared apiece each.
Later, Varun was adjudged as Man of the Match and the Man of the Series trophy went to Satish Kumar.
In the final and prize distribution function, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vigilance, Alok Puri was Chief Guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes.
Among others present were Rajesh Gill, Vinay Gupta, Ravi Kant and Ajay Vaid. Earlier, three teams took part in Tri-Series event included Rainawari Cricket Club, Janipur Cricket Club and Vishal Cricket Club.
The objective of the tournament was to celebrate the festival Baisakhi together through T20 Cricket and to promote communal harmony.
The matches were officiated by the technical panel including Saleem Ur Rehman, Sadiq Hussain, Sandeep Manchanda and Sanju.
