Srinagar: The Reserve Bank Governor Raghuram Rajan is arriving here on Thursday on a two-day visit with a focus on rehabilitation of last year’s flood-affected people in the valley.
“The focus of the RBI Governor’s visit, scheduled, will be rehabilitation of flood-affected businesses and infrastructure in Kashmir,” an official spokesman said.
During his visit, the spokesman said Rajan is also scheduled to meet Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu.
He is also scheduled to interact with bankers; representatives of trade, travel; hoteliers; tourism players and students of Kashmir University at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) on the banks of Dal Lake here.
Rajan would be interacting with Administrative Secretaries and other officers of the state government, the spokesman said, adding that the RBI governor would also visit Pulwama district in south Kashmir to interact with representatives of trade bodies and self-help groups there.
