Rape complainant booked in impersonation case

JAMMU: Channi Himmat Police on Thursday booked a woman, who had filed a rape compliant against four persons, for the charges of filing case on bogus identity.
According to Advocate Deepika Singh, Sub Registrar Jammu, Adnan Sayeed on November 1, initiated contempt proceedings against Sajjad Haider, Station House Officer (SHO), Police Station, Channi Himmat, Jammu for non-compliance of Court order in an impersonation case. The SHO was summoned in person for not registering the FIR against  a woman who lodged a rape complaint in Channi Police Station on September 26, 2016 allegedly with bogus identity, she added.
Advocate Deepika said the complainant, Major Harnam Singh whose son Jatinder Singh has been allegedly implicated in a gang rape case and an FIR was registered against him on September 26, 2016 under Sections 376 and 120-B of RPC, filed a complaint before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Jammu on October 15, 2016 for the registration of FIR against the rape complainant for allegedly changing her identity/names at different places allegedly to implicate the innocents.
Sources said that the rape complaint had been filed against the son of Major Harnam Singh and three others, wherein the complainant disclosed her identity somewhat different where as her name stands different in her Passport and an FIR that stands registered against her in Katra Police Station under Excise Act.
FIR 112/16 under Section 419 of RPC has been registered today at Channi Himmat police station against the rape complainant, Advocate Deepika said.
