Rana reacts strongly to Chidambaram’s observations on Omar led Govt

JAMMU: Reacting strongly to the observations of senior Congress leader and former Union Home Minister P Chidambaram over the functioning of Omar Abdullah led National Conference-Congress government in Jammu and Kashmir, Provincial President Devender Singh Rana on Monday questioned realization dawning on the veteran leader after six years.
“By raising a finger at National Conference, Mr Chidambaram has pointed four fingers towards himself, as the Congress was a partner in the Omar Abdullah led ministry”, Rana said at the homage-giving function held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan in observance of 111th birth anniversary of Baba-e- Quom Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah.
He said the uncalled for observations with regard to functioning of the NC-Congress government in the backdrop of praise for Mr Omar Abdullah and his intentions, lack objectivity and seem to be a sort of frustration in Congress camp over NC Working President joining march with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee on the issue of demonetization.
Rana regretted over the Congress leader’s reaction, saying the party trumpeted its achievements while being a partner in the government with National Conference all those years and now it sees all the flaws in its functioning in retrospect. “It has been favourite pastime of Congress to cash the achievements of Omar-led governments and credit negatives, if any, to the account of National Conference”, he said and offered a debate with anybody over the performance of 6-year Omar Abdullah led government in Jammu and Kashmir.
