HANDWARA: Minister for CAPD and Transport, Ch. Mohammad Ramzan on Sunday inaugurated Niabat office at Kandi, CD Block at Nutnussa and Tehsil Office at Zachaldara in Handwara Constituency.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Itrat Hussain Rafiqi, SSP Kupwara and other senior officers present on the occasion.
In this connection, the function was organised by the people of these areas to celebrate the facilities available after inaugurating these administrative units.
On this occasion, Ch. Ramzan said that under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the State has achieved a lot but the recent floods have demolished public and private infrastructure, however, he said the Chief Minister and his cabinet was engaged with rescue, relief and rehabilitation works. He said that the basic amenities were restored with possible time for the general public. He said that 86,000 quintals of free ration was provided to flood victims, besides 12,000 quintals of ration was provided to NGOs for distribution at relief camps.
Referring to opening of these administrative units, the minister said that the people of the areas would be able to get their grievances and problems redressal at their door steps with in minimum time.
Ch. Ramzan asked the district and tehsil administration for identifying the land for construction of building for CD block headquarter at Nutnussa, for which, he said, the Government has released Rs. 55 lakh for acquiring of land. The Government has released Rs. 2500 crore for establishment of new administrative units throughout the State, he added.
The minister said that the Cancer Treatment Institute has been established at Gundhaider, for which a chunk of 100 Kanal of land has been identified in the areas and the Union Government has already announced Rs. 90 crore for this purpose. He said that constructions of 700 low cost houses in the district have been purposed and the Government has released Rs. 77 lakh for the purpose.
