Raman Fellowship for Post Doctoral Research awarded to CUJ scientist

JAMMU: Dr. Anita Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Sciences, Central University of Jammu (CUJ) has been awarded Raman Fellowship for Post Doctoral Research in USA at University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia (USA).
Under this fellowship, Dr. Anita Singh will work on Isolation of Inhibitor-Degrading Microbes and Selective Removal of Inhibitors found in Lignocellulosic Hydrolysates under the mentorship of Mark A. Eiteman, Pro fessor of BioChemical Engineering and Microbiology, University of Georgia.
Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, CUJ congratulated Dr. Anita Singh for having been awarded this prestigious Post Doc fellowship. Prof. H. S Sehgal, Head of the Department, informed that the research work carried out by Dr. Singh at USA is quite important in selective removal of inhibitors like furans, furfural and acids produced during bioconversion process. She will be able to undertake advance research in the area of Bioethanol production which will be a significant contribution to the knowledge obtained in energy security in general and of Jammu and Kashmir state particularly. He wished her success in her endeavour.
