Ram Navami Shobha Yatra: Traffic advisory issued

JAMMU: In view of the Ram Navami procession in the city, the city traffic police have announced traffic restrictions for commuters on certain streets.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic City Jammu has advised people to take alternate routes and keep the restrictions in mind.
Commuters are also advised to leave for important destinations with sufficient time in hand as the procession may cause traffic at some places in the city. SSP Traffic said all traffic or from Hari Market bound for Raghunath Bazar will be diverted to other routes at the time of procession and traffic from City Chowk bound to Kanak Mandi will be diverted to other routes till procession crosses City Chowk.
“During the time of procession there will be some diversions for the vehicles bound for Panjtirthi/Parade upto J.P Chowk and vice versa,” he said adding that during the time of procession no vehicle will be allowed to move towards Pacca Danga via Police Post Chowk Chobutra Lane and towards Moti Bazaar via Rani Park.
“No vehicle will be allowed to move towards Chowk Chabutra from Panjtirthi Police Post till the culmination of procession.” he said adding that no vehicle will be allowed to move towards Chowk Chabutra from Mubarak Mandi complex till the culmination of procession.
“In view of route to be opted by organizers of Shoba Yatra, vehicular movement enroute shall be plugged and remain restricted to ease out the traffic pressure for smooth/hassle free movement of religious procession by the Traffic Police,” he added. The authorities have asked commuters to cooperate with the police officers and follow the alternate routes which are available.
