Rajput community seeks ban on movie Padmavati, protests

KATHUA: Shree Amar Kashatriya Rajput Sabha, District Kathua on Monday organised a rally against screening of film Padmavati.
The rally was led by State President of Sabha Narayan Singh and District President Kartar Singh which started from Ram Leela Office of Rajput Sabha kathua and proceeded towards office of District Commissioner Kathua where a memorandum was presented to DC against screening of movie. They said Padmavati movie contains objectionable content regarding Queen of Rajputana Sect Padmavati. Leaders of Rajput Sabha expressed strong resentment against the movie depicting a story based on totally false content, which shows the difference in opinion between old Historians and modern Historians and the actual facts regarding Queen Padmavati. Youth leaders of Amar Kashatriya Rajput Sabha Kathua warned of dire consequences if this anti-Rajput Movie is not cancelled or totally modified. Ravinder Singh Slathia Vice-President of Sabha, Kanwar Jatinder Singh and prominent leader of Sabha were also present in the rally.
