Rajnath Singh meets RSS chief

Nagpur: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat at the Sangh headquarters here and discussed the national political scenario as the BJP-led government at the Centre is completing its first year in power.

According to RSS sources, the closed door meeting lasted for about two hours in which important issues like the land bill was discussed.

Making his first trip to the Sangh headquarters ‘Hedgewar Bhawan’ after becoming Home Minister, Singh deliberated upon key issues such as the black-money tracking and the performance of Narendra Modi government from the perspective of the RSS during his discussion with the Sangh chief, the sources said.

The minister, who arrived by a BSF plane this morning told reporters that his government was committed to the betterment of poor and farmers.

He, however, declined to comment on Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s campaign against the farmers’ plight.

Condemning the IS attack in Karachi where more than 40 persons were gunned down yesterday, Singh mentioned that India has always asked Pakistan to contain terror in their country while expressing apprehensions about such attacks.

The Home Minister exuded confidence on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to China.

To a query on the probe initiated by Haryana government on alleged land deals of Robert Vadra, Singh dismissed allegations of his party indulging in witch hunt and said, “We do not indulge in such tactics.
